Coach Hull

Coach Nicholas Hull

Coach Hull is extremely dedicated to the advancement of Indiana wrestling on both a national and international level. With over 500 career victories, some of his personal accomplishments include an IHSAA State Championship and Runner-Up, a 3x IHSAA Placewinner, 4x ISWA State Champion, 2x Southeastern Regional Champion, NHSWCA All-American ranked 3rd in the country, undefeated at the Junior Duals and ASICS/FILA Junior Nationals, 5th @ Cadet World Team Trials, 2x NJCAA All-American and captain of the 2001 NJCAA National Champion Harper College Wrestling Team.

He has had the fortunate ability to have worked with some of the best wrestlers in the country and arguably the world, including Rob Eiter (University of Maryland, Olympian), Sheldon Thomas (Sunkist Kids, NCAA D1 National Champion), Mark Angle (NCAA All-American), Bogdan and Aruel Ciufulescu (2x NJCAA National Champions, Romanian World Team), Shawn McCoy (2x FL State Champion, 6x National Champion), Brauman Creighton (2x D2 National Champ), Lee Pritts (Arizona State University Asst, All-American), Mike Dixon (Old Dominion Associate Head Coach) and others.

With his individual success, unfortunately injuries sidelined Hull before he could achieve his personal goals as a competitor which forced him into coaching full-time. As a coach, however, Hull has still found success on staffs at Harper College, Arlington, Arsenal Tech and Warren Central High Schools, was the 2011 ISWA Cadet & Junior Coach of the Year, represented Indiana at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the 2011 Fall Coaching Clinic, and has coached numerous National Champions, All-Americans, State Champions, State Placewinners, etc.

At IPWA, we understand that everyone is different.  We all have different builds, skill levels and mindsets, which is what makes us all special.  Not everyone will be an Olympic Champion, but our program is designed to help each athlete maximize their potential, whatever it may be.  We also understand that our sport is not a sprint – it is a marathon.  We are more concerned with building champions of tomorrow rather than just today.  It takes time to build a high quality wrestler so we aim to enusre our athletes are equipped with solid fundamentals, proven technique, excellent habits, and mental toughness – all geared at perfoming against the top 5% in the country.  Whether your child is just starting off or is a triple crown national champion, we know that if we focus on “getting better” – both on and off the mat – then the results will follow.

We don’t compete. We perform.  This is a key foundation of Indiana Pride Wrestling.  As wrestlers, we can know 100,000 moves but they won’t do us any good if our minds are not ready to perform at our maximum level each and every time we step on the mat.  Over the course of our program and competitive schedule, athletes will come to understand this concept by following our 5 step philosophy……Fear nothing, set the tone, be relentless, wrestle to win, and have fun!  These proven philosphies are Indiana Pride’s cornerstone and will serve your wrestler well as they strive to maximize their potential in this wonderful sport.
